Shri Dharma Sastha

Sree Dharma Sastha Temple

Nestled in the serene surroundings of Tattamangalam Agraharam, Palakkad District, Kerala, the Sri Dharma Sastha Temple stands as a sacred beacon of devotion and tradition. Dedicated to Lord Ayyappan, revered here as Sri Dharma Sastha, the temple serves as a spiritual nucleus for the Tamil Brahmin community and devotees across the region.
With a legacy spanning generations, the temple is renowned for hosting the annual Sasthapreethi and Ratholasavam festivals, organized by the Sri Dharma Sastha Utsavam Trust (SDSUT), which draw thousands of devotees in celebration of divine grace and community unity.
The temple’s origins trace back several generations, with oral traditions linking its founding to the migration of Tamil Brahmin families from Tamil Nadu who settled in Tattamangalam. Over time, the temple evolved into a spiritual hub, with Sasthapreethi and Ratholasavam becoming a hallmark of communal harmony and devotion.

Sree Santhana Gopala Krishna Temple

Situated on the eastern side of the village, beside a copiously water-filled pond, the Sree Santhana Gopala Krishna Temple is a cherished spiritual haven dedicated to Lord Krishna in his divine form as Santhana Gopala — the bestower of progeny and protector of dharma.
Its tranquil setting and sacred rituals make it a centre of spiritual solace and communal harmony. Over generations, it has become a beacon of faith, especially for families seeking divine blessings for children. Devotees longing for offspring, who have been waiting for years to have a child, have been greatly blessed by performing the Purusha Sooktha Homam at the temple, conducted during the annual December festival.
